Rudolf Steiner training in Kenya

Abou and I have arrived to Nairobi, Kenya where we will participate in a Rudolf Steiner teacher training arranged by the East African Waldorf center of training at the Steiner school in Mbagathi. We chose this training on recommendation from our advisor, Nana Goebel (Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners Berlin). According to the information at hand there is no available francophone Steiner training in Africa, and no successfully operated Steiner school in West Africa. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Mrs Nana Goebel and Mrs Silviah Njagi (organizer of the training) for their support of our school and for their guidance and graceful inclusion into the East African Steiner community.

In the spirit of Steiner’s anthroposophy we will learn different techniques and rituals to implement with our Kindergarden teachers back home in Côte d’Ivoire. On the agenda is eurythmy, artistic development, handcraft, human development and the important morning ring gathering. We are very exited to be here to learn, exchange and grow together with the other participants. This is a very important step to anchor Steiner’s teachings into our school in Bouaké.

Much love,

Maria
